We take great pride in our exam results, which have consistently beaten national norms in recent years. Burlington Danes Academy students celebrated record achievement at GCSE and equivalent qualifications in the academy’s 2013 results:
Burlington Danes Academy's KS5 students also achieved record results at A level and equivalent qualifications in the academy’s third set of Sixth Form results.
In 2012, 66% of students achieved at least 5A*-C grades including English and mathematics -up 35 percentage points since the school became an academy (2006, 31%; 2007, 35%; 2008 41%; 2009, 50%; 2010, 68%; 2011, 75%). The 2011 national average for this measure was 58.2% for maintained schools. 27% of students gained three or more A/A* grades. 16% of students gained five or more A/A* grades.
Meanwhile in the Sixth Form 81% of all grades awarded to Year 13 students at Burlington Danes in 2012 were A*-C. This was up from 68% in 2011. The figure for A Levels (excluding vocational courses) is 79% A*-C.
28% of all grades were A*-A. 52% of all grades were A*-B.
