Women triumph at Oscars
Kathryn Bigelow has become the first woman to win the Best Director at the Oscar awards, as her Iraq war drama took six prizes, including Best Film.
“It’s the moment of a lifetime,” said Bigelow – the fifth woman to be nominated in academy award history.
She paid tribute to those in the military and she praised her fellow nominees who have encouraged her the whole way. Through the Oscar awards there were several other praises.
Mo’Nique is the first black woman to win an Oscar award. She has won the best supporting actress; this to her is a great triumph.
Kathryn Bigelow thanks Mo’Nique because she inspired her.
