Video games
Thousands of children get on their consoles when they are dismissed from school, playing the most popular games including: FIFA 10, Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto.
They end up playing from 4-8 hours, as well as online. Due to this they begin to score poorly in their exams. It is advised that parents make sure their children do not spend all their free time on playing but revising to help their learning.
Earlier we interviewed a teacher from Burlington Danes Academy Miss Davies, "I think that a lot of children spend too much time on computers and video games and less time on school work, it is definitely a big problem in school and it shows in their results".
We also interviewed a student from Burlington Danes Academy Jacob, "Video games are great, and personally I admit that I play a lot of Play Station 3. I also revise! But there are a lot of children out there who play it a lot and do not revise for their assessments which gives PS3 a bad name! This could lead to a lot of parents not buying the console and now a lot of kids miss out on the beauty of game consoles!"
