On 19 November 2008 the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, the Rt Hon Ed Balls MP, opened Burlington Danes Academy’s marvellous new Key Stage Three building. The iconic Stanley Fink building is the first phase of the Academy’s multi-million pound modernisation.
With sunlight streaming through the vast windows of the double-height atrium Ed Balls told pupils: “You will do great things in this new building.” He said that the multi-million pound investment was "a sign of the value we place on our children’s education" and praised Principal Sally Coates for the academy's rapidly improving results.
