We believe that every child can be a musician. ARK Schools has launched a network-wide music programme to support teachers and music departments in building a culture of engagement, participation, celebration and success in music making. We are pleased to announce that the following music programmes will be taking place at Burlington Danes Academy over the next year:
Artists and Young Music Mentors in Residence - artists and mentors work alongside teachers to inspire, motivate and demonstrate relevant, accessible and excellent learning and music making.
ARK Voices - a singing programme offering continuing professional development to teachers and development for young voices, working with a variety of practitioners and within a variety of styles. Mass events involving pupils from across the ARK network will take place each term.
ARK Beats - a variety of percussion workshops for year 7s
Inside Out - a series of performances leading to workshops, leading to ensembles where children can choose to learn an instrument from inside an ensemble, rather than waiting until they have a certain level of skill before they play
